Three years ago I was designing the initial covers for many of the publications at Mountain Peak Music. One of the covers was for the series of Daily Routines.

Coming Home is Jason Carder’s solo debut recording. It was released in November 2011 on the New Vintage Music record label.
Marching Band season is almost upon us again. As a designer, I get a bit nostalgic around this time because Marching Bands are where I had my first graphic design jobs. My sophomore year I got into t-shirt design. One of my first ‘legit’ projects was to create the shirt for my section in the band, the Tubas and Bari-Saxes. That year I was on a big Family Guy kick, and specifically remembered a scene where Peter is holding a sousaphone. I took that image and combined it with the most famous animated baritone sax player Lisa Simpson, and thus my first design was created. This year I have been fortunate enough to work with Andrew Hitz of the Boston Brass on his latest side project, A Band Director’s Guide to Everything Tuba: A Collection of Interviews with the Experts.
This book is an e-book which, through a collection of interviews, is set up to provide a band director at any level with all the information they may need to successfully teach young tuba students. Read more about it at Andrew’s website.
